i don’t understand all this “i miss bright eyes” bullshit. does it matter what he ends up releasing his records under? it’s still conor oberst. all of his records have progressed naturally.

I’m not as much of a fan of the newest album, but they are absolutely FLAWLESS live.
loved conor’s self-titled solo album, and wasn’t that into outer south when it came out, but once you see him live with the mystic valley band, you can’t help but fall in love with every song on that new record. and even if conor had continued bright eyes, the music inevitably would have changed to what it is now anyway! cassadaga (great album) is the most obvious example of that!
There’s nothing to miss. Bright Eyes is still in him, give the guy a break for being a fucking grown man now.
Idk if he’s gonna release any more music under Bright Eyes or just call it Conor Oberst, but its still amazing, this guy is a genius.

anyways @ #9 conor can definitely sing, he’s just got a really unique style that you either love or hate. this guy’s been putting out records since he was 13 years old though, he’s extremely fucking talented.

wait …is this like a new band… like mystic walley band….cos i still havent listened to them and i kindof like this. i miss bright eyes only because he most likely wont perform bright eyes songs live, so i need to know his new stuff. someone please answer…

In Bright Eyes Conor would most of the time use Mike Mogis and Nate Walcott and had countless others to help him out in live performances and recording. Conor and Nate Walcott continue to work together in the mystic valley band. Conor is a musical genius and is our times bob dylan. many stupid fuckers like whoever comment #9 is didnt understand bob dylan either.
Yes #15 it is a new band with the great m. ward, yim yames and his old guitarist from bright eyes mieke mogis. The mystic valley band is amazing and they are really solid live. Everyone should check out Nik Freitas too. He is also in the mystic valley band. Nik has great solo records and toured with bright eyes before him and Conor got together in The Mystic Valley Band. So check out all of that!
