What the fuck is this?…I’ve never seen thid beforrrre… I’m intersted… Kurt Cobain, as far as I’m concerned, was, Rock n’ roll. One of the last. They’ve been few and far between since. An enormous amount of moral and ethical “Rock and Roll” indefinitely died with that man. seriously, an enormous fan…. I heard a while back Ryan Gosling was supposed to be playing Kurt in a big budget movie, but Courtney Love’s legal bullshit pulled the plug.. Now, Im watching Jared Leto rock an unplugged….thing…version…cover…i dunno.. Even his fingers look the same on the neck. Fucking weird. someone please expain. and Sorry for the rant and randomness, I’ve been doin blow all night…

Whatever. Jared Leto’s band has lost a lot of their value to me, but I still have one or two of their songs. Leto’s a talented actor, and his band was pretty decent at one point or another. I thought this was for some new movie/project he was doing, but it doesn’t seem so, so it’s kinda corny if he just decided to play dress-up for no reason or as a tribute. He portrayed him well though.

I don’t think he disgraces Kurt, I just think he tried too hard to BE like Kurt in this. Leto can sing, when it’s his own style. If he wants to cover Nirvana, more power to him, I think he should go for it. But I personally feel he’d be more successful making the songs his own instead of trying to sound exactly like Kurt. For the guy who said he was hitting the notes like Kurt, he kiiind of was, but it was different enough to be noticeable…but then again, maybe I just have a more critical ear because I went through a big Nirvana phase.
Trying to look like Kurt, a cool concept but it didn’t work out that well in my opinion. Average overall, but I’d like to see Leto making it his own instead of trying to “be Kurt” like he appears to be doing in this.
